Philadelphia, PA – Today At-Large City Councilman William Greenlee announced that he is endorsing Rich Negrin for Philadelphia District Attorney in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.

“I’m proud to be endorsed by Councilman Greenlee,” Negrin said. “He has been a tireless advocate for our city and our communities, having fought for earned paid sick leave, the expansion of civil rights to the elderly, the LGBT community, and domestic violence victims, and increased protections for homeowners who face the risk of stolen property.  He’s a progressive leader for our city and he adds an invaluable level of support in the closing days of the race.”

“Rich is exactly who we need in the District Attorney’s Office right now,” said Greenlee. “He has the experience needed to run a major city office. He knows when we need to get tough on violent criminals and when we need to show compassion to first-time, non-violent offenders.  He has the vision to implement the kind of judicial reforms that make our city more fair and just.  And he has the leadership ability to get the DA’s office back on track and turn it into a model for the rest of the country.  I’m looking forward to spending the next several days getting out the vote for him.”

Councilman Greenlee’s endorsement follows the recent endorsement for Negrin by the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, the Sheet Metal Workers, Hispanic community leaders, and others. For a full list of Negrin endorsements, please visit:
